Aquaphobia serves all of Durham Region, and specializes in “No Dig” Foundation Repair. We Hope make you our next 5 Star Google review!
Rod holes are holes left over from the construction process of the foundation wall. They are visible to a homeowner once the drywall and insulation is removed.
Usually the original building contractor applies a hydraulic cement on the inside and outside of the wall over these holes. Generally this is enough to keep water back from entering the basement.
Sometimes water finds its way in and will cause a leak. Usually a dark stain can found around the leaking rod hole or obvious water stains are visible.
Although there are many different solutions and products that can be used to fix a leaking rod hole, the easiest and most cost effective solution is to inject it with high expanding polyurethane.
The high pressure of the injection along with the high expanding ratio of the polyurethane ensures that these holes get completely filled with a water blocking plug.
